SAM.gov Copilot Privacy Policy
SAM.gov Copilot is a browser extension designed to support opportunity review workflows on sam.gov.
This page explains what the extension can access, what it stores locally, and what remains optional.
1. What the extension does
SAM.gov Copilot helps users review and organize SAM.gov opportunity information inside their browser. Its features include local workspace views, opportunity scoring overlays, saved opportunity state, saved queries, and optional observability previews for support-oriented diagnostics.
2. Sites and pages in scope
The extension is intended to run on supported https://sam.gov/* pages that are relevant to its workflow.
It is not intended to monitor unrelated websites or collect broad browsing activity.
3. Data the extension may access
The extension may access information already visible on supported SAM.gov pages, such as:
- opportunity titles
- agency names
- notice types
- posted or due dates
- set-aside or NAICS metadata when available
- page classification and workflow context needed to render extension features
4. Local-first storage
Core extension state is designed to remain local to the user’s browser profile. This can include settings, saved opportunities, saved queries, workspace state, and other local workflow records required for the extension to function.
5. Optional telemetry and observability
Telemetry is optional. The extension is intended to work for core workflows even when telemetry is turned off. When optional telemetry is enabled, support-oriented observability records are intended to be limited and redacted.
These optional records may include:
- timestamps
- normalized page kind or source surface
- counts and state summaries
- opportunity metadata already presented in the product workflow
- support-safe error codes or messages relevant to diagnosing failures
6. Data not intended to be included by default
- No unrelated browsing history
- No cross-site activity collection
- No raw full-page HTML capture by default
- No screenshots by default
- No sale of personal data
7. Sharing and exports
Where diagnostic export or preview features exist, they are intended to be user-initiated. Users should review any exported data before sharing it externally.
8. Third parties
This privacy policy does not replace the privacy or data handling policies of SAM.gov, Google Chrome, or other third-party services the user may access separately.
9. Security
Reasonable efforts should be used to keep extension data handling narrow, local-first, and limited to the permissions required for supported SAM.gov workflows.
10. Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the extension’s behavior, permissions, telemetry, or data handling changes. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are published.
